Ninety seconds on La Plaine
There is no sheltered water anywhere near La Plaine. The east coast here is cliff and black sand with the open Atlantic straight onto it, and the village sits well back from the edge. It is the base for Sari-Sari Falls, which drops into a deep pool inland of the village and is reached by walking up the riverbed. After heavy rain the river rises fast and guides call the walk off.
