Moraca River Gorge
A narrow canyon carved by the Morača River with sheer 1,000-foot red and grey stone walls, traversed by the main road from Podgorica northward. The river is home to trout and traditional stone bridges.

Biogradska Gora National Park
One of the last fragments of primeval forest in Europe, ringing a glacial lake at about 1,100 metres between Kolasin and Mojkovac. The lakeside circuit takes around an hour under trees up to five centuries old, and marked trails climb toward the Bjelasica ridgeline above.

Morača Monastery
A Serbian Orthodox monastery founded in 1252 on a terrace above the Moraca canyon, holding some of the country's most important medieval fresco painting. It sits just off the Podgorica to Kolasin road, which makes it the natural stop on the drive north.
