Ninety seconds on Bermuda Railway Trail
Go east from the aquarium: the trail keeps close to the water as far as Coney Island, crossing Bailey's Bay on a footbridge that reconnected two severed halves. West of Radnor Road it breaks into short pieces and the signs matter.
Six and a half kilometres of it run between the aquarium and Coney Island, which is the section walkers and runners are pointed at from this end. Shelly Bay beach and park sit along the way, shallow water and a large playground, and the old railway museum stands on the same stretch. At the eastern end the route crosses Bailey's Bay at close to water level, then carries on to Crawl. Nine sections make up the whole trail, the shortest around a kilometre and a half and the longest about six. Free trail guides are handed out at the visitor centres in Hamilton, St George's and the Dockyard. At the Flatts end nothing survives of the high bridge that once took the line over the inlet.
