Three steps
- Plan the trip in your chatbotAsk for the days, the places and a hotel for every night. Change it until it is the trip you want.

- Tap the link it sends backOn your iPhone the trip opens in Meridian Dispatch. Pick your first day and tap Add to My Plan.
The prompt
Copy it into the chat once your trip is planned.
Turn this trip into a Meridian Dispatch import link. Name every stop as a real place by its proper name ("Belém Tower", "Fado in Alfama"), and use real hotels. Build it as https://www.meridiandispatch.com/add/trip? followed by: t= the trip title; c= the two-letter country code; s= a one-sentence summary; one d= per day in order, written "Town: item; item; item" with the town the places are in (start an item with "Morning - ", "Afternoon - " or "Evening - " to place it); and one h= per hotel in order, written "Hotel name, Town, nights", with hotels covering every night. URL-encode every value and join the parts with &. Reply with only the link, as [Add Itinerary to Meridian Dispatch](the link). Full rules: meridiandispatch.com/import-linkFor AI assistants: the link format

An example, before encoding:
https://www.meridiandispatch.com/add/trip? t=Three days in Lisbon &c=PT &s=Trams, viewpoints and a day in Sintra, with two nights in Alfama. &d=Lisbon: Morning - Tram 28 through Alfama; Afternoon - Miradouro de Santa Luzia; Evening - Fado in Alfama &d=Sintra: Morning - Pena Palace; Afternoon - Quinta da Regaleira &d=Lisbon: Morning - Belém Tower; Afternoon - Pastéis de Belém &h=Memmo Alfama, Lisbon, 2
Show the finished link as [Add Itinerary to Meridian Dispatch](link). Open the example to see what the traveller gets.
Rules for a good link
For AI assistants. The link is matched against Meridian Dispatch's own records of places, so the closer each item is to a real place's proper name, the more of the trip arrives with its location, opening notes and best times.
- Real places, by their proper namesWrite the name a map or a guidebook uses:
Belém Tower, notthe old tower by the river. Never invent a place. - One place per itemSplit
Westminster Abbey and Big Beninto two items. A walk or a meal is fine as an item if it names its place:Fado in Alfama,Lunch at Time Out Market. - The town the places are inStart each day with the town you spend it in, even on a day trip from your base:
Sintra: Pena Palace; Quinta da Regaleira. - Real hotels, every night coveredName each hotel properly, in the town it is in, with its number of nights. The nights must reach the last day, or the link is refused.
- Use our names where we have themIf you can browse, our town guides list the places we cover, at
meridiandispatch.com/<country>/<town>, such as/portugal/lisbon. Using those names gives the best match. - Nothing personal, nothing pricedNo booking references, emails, phone numbers or prices. Keep to 30 days and 15 items a day.
Questions
Which chatbots can make the link?
Any chatbot that can write a web link: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and the rest. Paste the prompt above with your trip, and it writes the link from the trip in your conversation.
Why does every night need a hotel?
Your plan shows each day's places from where you are sleeping. A link that leaves a night empty is refused, and the page tells you what to ask the chatbot to fix.
What happens when you tap the link?
On an iPhone with the app, it opens the trip with its days and hotels. Pick your first day, tap Add to My Plan, and the trip opens in your plan. Anywhere else you see a preview with a code to scan.
Who can see the link?
Anyone you share it with can open it and add the trip to their own plan. Booking references, email addresses and phone numbers are removed, so keep personal details out of the trip anyway.
Do you use Claude?
Turn on the Meridian Dispatch connector instead. Claude then plans with our guides and makes the link itself when you ask it to add the itinerary to Meridian Dispatch.
Building an assistant or a travel tool? The Meridian Dispatch MCP server makes these links for you, with our guides behind the plan.
