The single best stop in Shkodër and the last big sight before the mountain road; an hour covers the three courtyards and the ramparts.

Historical Museum of Shkodra
Set in a nineteenth century merchant house with a walled courtyard, the collection runs from Illyrian bronzes and Roman glass found around the lake up to the costumes, weapons and photographs of the Ottoman city. Rooms are small and the English labelling is sparse. An hour covers the displays, and the house itself, with its timber galleries, rewards a slow walk.
