Theth-Valbona Pass
An alpine pass at approximately 5,600 feet connecting the Theth and Valbona valleys in the North Albanian Alps. The route crosses limestone ridges with panoramic views of both valleys and surrounding peaks.

Theth National Park
Sheer limestone walls close around a valley of stone roofed houses, beech forest and cold rivers, with the Grunas waterfall, the Blue Eye pool and the pass to Valbona all reachable on a day walk from the village. Trails are marked but rough, and river crossings run high after rain. Guesthouses open from late spring, and snow shuts the valley in winter.

Mount Jezerca
Maja e Jezercës rises to 2694 metres above the glacial cirques north of the village, the highest summit of the Albanian Alps and a full day of scrambling from the shepherds' huts below. Route finding over scree and old snow is the real difficulty, and the climbing itself stays straightforward. Many walkers settle for the view of the peak from the Valbona pass path.

Theth Church
A small white-stone Orthodox church built in 1802, located in the village center of Theth. It serves the local community and represents the religious heritage of the isolated valley.

Grunas Canyon
Worth the short detour if already walking down toward the waterfall; the viewpoints are unfenced, so keep well back from the edge.

Grunas Waterfall
About an hour on foot round trip on rocky ground, so do it first thing before the long drive north.

Qafa e Thorës
A ten-minute pull-in on the way out of the valley; the last clear look at the mountains before the road drops toward Shkoder.

Church of Saint Nicholas
Small and quickly seen; combine it with the lock-in tower a two-minute walk away.

Five minutes from the guesthouses and worth a quick walk before the drive out; twenty minutes covers it.

Lock-in Tower
Tiny but the single best piece of context for understanding this valley: 20 minutes here before any hiking pays off.

Theth National Park Visitor Centre
The entry point to Theth Valley in the Accursed Mountains, providing information on hiking routes, local guesthouses and the valley's alpine landscape. The centre sits at the road's end in the small settlement of Theth.
