Ninety seconds on Iguaçu Falls
Take the park bus to its last stop and reach the Devil's Throat first: on the early buses the walkway can be nearly empty while the trail fills up.
The park bus runs from the visitor centre through the forest, and its first stop is the start of the Trilha das Cataratas, which works down the gorge one viewpoint after another to a walkway over the river at the foot of the Devil's Throat. From the last stop, Porto Canoas, a five-minute walk leads back to the upper viewpoint over the throat. The lift at Espaço Naipi goes down to the lower platform, where the spray is so heavy there is little to see; if the lift is not yet running, there are stairs. Then climb the trail from its foot against the flow of walkers. The last lookout, opposite the hotel, is the calmest, with a short path into the forest where agoutis and capuchins turn up.
