Ninety seconds on Petrovac Beach and Promenade
Two marked paths leave the ends of the promenade, one over a rocky spur to Lucice and one along the cliffs towards the Rezevici monastery. The beach itself is the short part of a morning here.
Six hundred metres of sand below the town, a promenade along it, and two islets offshore, Katič and Sveta Neđelja. The sixteenth century Venetian fort of Kastel Lastva stands at the north end of the bay, built to discourage pirates.
Fine reddish sand, with the promenade and its restaurants and bars along the back of it. At the north end the reconstructed Venetian fort shelters the small harbour, and it is what the town was called until 1918. Off the eastern exit a concrete path, lit at night, crosses a rocky spur to Lucice, a cove in pine woods, and carries on to Buljarica. The other walk runs through forest and then directly along steep cliffs above the sea, paved and walled on the seaward side, to the beach at Perazica Do and up to the Rezevici monastery. A small Orthodox church stands on the further of the two islets, put there by stranded sailors.
