Ninety seconds on the Criț Fortified Church
Most drivers pass Criț without stopping, so you will likely have its fortified church to yourself. The door is kept locked: ring the keyholder on the number posted at the entrance.
Ring the number and someone from the village comes down to open up. The wait is unpredictable and there is nowhere in particular to spend it.
Once inside, forty five minutes covers the church and a circuit inside the walls. After Biertan the scale is small: one wall and a church built for a few hundred. There is no desk and nothing for sale.
The church is in Criț itself, a separate Saxon village. Viscri is the usual base for reaching it.
