Aim for the Sargazo gate. The lake trail from there crosses a hanging bridge and runs on boardwalk through native forest, much of it alerce, to Laguna Sargazo, with a viewpoint on the way. A short bird-watching loop, Los Ulmos, starts from the same car park. Correntoso, the first gate on the road in, is the free sector, with the Huillifoten walk up to viewpoints over the Chamiza valley and a picnic ground by a deep pool in the river. Trees close to 3,000 years old grow in the Chaicas sector, whose mountain routes need a ford of the Río La Plata and open only in summer. Fires of any kind, pets and leaving the trail are all prohibited.
