Ninety seconds on Front Street
The one proper town walk of the day: give it an hour or more, and park in the city lots off Front Street rather than circling.
Quick to walk end to end, the street has the harbour on one side and shopfronts on the other. Give the lanes behind it more time: Chancery Lane and Bermuda House Lane lead to small shops selling gifts, local art and crafts, and to places serving local seafood.
For the harbour view without the pavement, take a balcony table at one of the restaurants above the street. At the foot of Queen Street stands the blue and white Birdcage, where a policeman in Bermuda shorts sometimes turns up to pose for photographs.
Smaller cruise ships sometimes berth at Hamilton itself, and those are the street's most crowded days.
