Ninety seconds on Clocktower Mall
Half an hour here is a cool, dry break between the ferry and the museum. Small shops and galleries share one air-conditioned floor behind walls nearly a metre thick.
Twenty to thirty small units fill one long floor behind the clock faces. They include branches of the bigger Hamilton stores, jewellers, gift and souvenir counters, a few art galleries and some restaurants.
The upper floor is offices, so there is nothing to climb to. Tenants change often, so if you want a particular shop, check it is still there before a special trip.
