Ninety seconds on the Rijeka Crnojevica River Gorge
Plan two separate outings here: a boat from the village dock into the canyon, and a drive up the road east of the village to the Pavlova Strana layby for the horseshoe bend.
The river runs fifteen kilometres of canyon between the village and the open lake. The shortest boat trip turns back inside the canyon, and longer trips carry on out to the lake. The boats do not land anywhere on the way.
The viewpoint at Pavlova Strana is on the road above. From there the river curves in a wide horseshoe with hills on both sides, and runs on out of sight towards the lake. To do both in a morning, drive between them.
