Church of St. John the Baptist, Bohinj
Beside the stone bridge at Ribčev Laz, where the lake drains into the river, this small church holds walls of Gothic frescoes, some centuries old. Its bell tower and the lake behind it make one of the most photographed views in Bohinj. The interior opens in the summer season, and the bridge at dawn is usually empty.

Mostnica Gorge
Near Stara Fužina, a narrow chasm cut by the Mostnica stream runs for about two kilometres, with pools, potholes and a natural stone arch. A marked path follows the rim and crosses several bridges, and it continues up the valley to the Voje waterfall for a longer walk. Entry is ticketed in season, and early morning avoids tour groups.

Savica Falls
Above the western end of Lake Bohinj, the fall splits into two streams that drop about 78 metres into a gorge. A path of more than 500 steps climbs through the forest to a viewing shelter in about twenty minutes. It is ticketed and open in the warmer months, and is roughly half an hour's drive from Bohinjska Bistrica.

Triglav
At 2,864 metres, the national symbol is climbed from several valleys, with Bohinj a classic approach through the Seven Lakes Valley or via Pokljuka. Most walkers take two days with a night in a mountain hut, and the final ridge is a protected route with steel cables. The season runs from July to September; a guide and a helmet are advisable for first-timers.

Triglav Lakes Valley
High above Bohinj, a chain of glacial lakes lies in a karst valley of pale rock and dwarf pine, usually reached from the Savica car park by the steep Komarča path. The climb to the hut by the lakes takes around three to four hours. Most walkers stay overnight, and the trail is snow-free from roughly early summer to autumn.
