Logar Valley
A flat meadow floor about 7 km long runs between limestone walls to the head of the valley, lined with farmsteads, guesthouses and waterfalls. The whole valley is a landscape park, and a toll applies to cars at the entrance in the summer season. Cycling or walking the valley road shows it best, and a full visit takes at least half a day.

Potok Cave
High on the slopes of Olševa, at about 1,700 m, a cave once sheltered Ice Age hunters, and excavations here turned up cave bear bones and a bone needle. The walk up from the valley road takes around two hours on a steep marked path. Nothing is displayed inside, so the reward is the setting and the view back over the valley.

Rinka Falls
At the head of the Logar Valley, the Savinja pours about 90 m off a rock step below the Okrešelj cirque. A path climbs from the car park at the end of the valley road in roughly twenty minutes to the base. Early summer, when snowmelt feeds the river, gives the fullest flow, and a small hut above serves drinks.

Robanov Kot
No through road runs into this narrow glacial valley south of Solčava, which keeps it far quieter than its famous neighbour. Meadows, a few farms and a stream lead back to the cliffs of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. An easy marked path runs the length of the valley floor; walkers should allow two or three hours for the round trip.

Solčava Panoramic Road
Running along the sunny northern slopes above the upper Savinja valley, this narrow road links high farmsteads with views across to the Logar Valley walls. The Church of the Holy Spirit stands along the route, one of the highest in the area. Drive it slowly or cycle it; farms along the way sell cheese and cured meats in summer.
