Ninety seconds on Marigot

Most people meet Marigot arriving or leaving: Douglas-Charles airport is minutes down the road. It is also the largest village on the north east coast, facing straight into the Atlantic. The coast here is exposed and the bays are pocket sized, cut into headlands with reef offshore. Most people passing through are arriving or leaving, but the beaches north toward Woodford Hill are among the least crowded on the island.

    A small Atlantic bay north of Marigot between headlands, with reef offshore taking the worst of the swell.

  2. La Taille Bay Beach

    Beach · 1.5 hr

    An open bay of dark sand on the exposed north east coast, with Atlantic surf and no facilities.

  3. Middle Bay Beach

    Beach · 1.5 hr

    A pocket beach on the north east coast reached down a track from the main road, sheltered by rock at both ends.

  4. Pagua Bay House

    Hotel

    A small cliff-top property of cabanas above Pagua Bay on the Atlantic coast, the best regarded place to stay on the windward side of the island.
