Chaudiere Pool
If it rained yesterday, leave this one alone: the last stretch in is a river crossing, and heavy rain the day before can make it dangerous. Otherwise, plan it into a day on the north coast.

Bwa Nef Falls
A tall fall in a narrow ravine in the far north, reached on a walk in that crosses the river repeatedly and is rarely busy. The ravine walls close in near the base and the pool is cold and shaded for most of the day. The crossings are the difficulty, and the route is not worth attempting when the river is up.

Cold Sulphur Springs
Sulphur vents cold on the flank of Morne aux Diables, which sets it apart from the hot springs of the south, staining the ground and the water around it. The site lies off the road above Penville on farmed ground. There is no development of any kind here, and the smell reaches the path before the springs come into view.

Morne aux Diables
The volcano at the northern end of Dominica, rising to about eight hundred and sixty metres, with a crater on its summit and cold sulphur springs on its flank. Its slopes carry elfin woodland near the top and farmed ground lower down. There is no maintained trail to the summit, so the climb is done with a guide from Vieille Case or Penville.
