Things to do in Portmagee

A fishing village of about 120 people on the Portmagee Channel, facing Valentia Island across the Maurice O'Neill bridge, and the main departure pier for Skellig Michael landings. The boatmen read the swell on the islands at first light and ring their passengers, which makes the village the place to sleep the night before a booking. The Moorings on the harbourfront does rooms and food a few steps from the boats, and the Skellig Ring road west towards St Finian's Bay starts here.
