El Salto del Claro
A single fall on the Claro river ten minutes south of Pucón, dropping into a green plunge pool behind a private farm gate that opens through the day in season. A short steep path leads down from the parking meadow, and the flow is heaviest after the spring melt, thinning by February.

Hotel Antumalal
A Bauhaus lodge cut into the rock above Lake Villarrica in 1950, with a slate terrace, terraced gardens dropping to a private beach and rooms glazed floor to ceiling on the lake side. It stands two kilometres west of the town on the Villarrica road and keeps a small count of rooms.

Lago Caburgua
A deep glacial lake with white sand beaches, unusual on a shore that is otherwise black volcanic grit, fed and drained underground. Playa Blanca and Playa Negra sit at the southern end, half an hour from Pucón on a paved road that turns busy through February.

Ojos del Caburgua
Meltwater draining underground from Lago Caburgua surfaces here as turquoise falls dropping into pools ringed by ferns and volcanic rock. The site sits off the Caburgua road behind a landowner gate with a short signed path, and the colour reads strongest under midday light.

Parque nacional Huerquehue
A terraced park of araucaria forest and hanging lakes east of Caburgua, where the Los Lagos trail climbs past Chico, Verde and Toro in a steep half day. CONAF holds an entry quota at the Tinquilco gate, the last kilometres of road are gravel, and the upper lakes keep snow into November.

Parque nacional Villarrica
The park wraps three volcanoes, Villarrica, Quetrupillán and Lanín, across lava fields and old growth lenga south of the town. The Villarrica Traverse crosses it in four to five days, while the Rucapillán sector road reaches the ski centre in half an hour and serves the shorter lava cave walks.

Río Trancura
The Trancura carries the rafting and kayaking east of Pucón, split into a lower run of grade three and an upper run of grade four through the Nido de Cóndores gorge. Water is highest from October to December, every descent goes with a licensed outfit, and wetsuits are issued at the put in.

Santuario El Cañi
A private reserve of about 500 hectares protecting one of the southernmost araucaria stands, reached by a track from Pichares on the Caburgua road. The climb to the mirador and its lagoons runs five to six hours return, a guide is required for the upper trail, and the gate closes in heavy snow.

Termas Geométricas
Slate pools are strung along a fern gorge inside the Villarrica park, linked by a crimson boardwalk that climbs some 450 metres up the ravine. The approach is an hour of gravel road from Pucón, booking ahead is standard in summer, and the water runs hot enough that the cold plunges get used between soaks.

Vira Vira
A working dairy farm turned lodge on the Liucura river north of the town, with its own cheese room, kitchen garden and villas set along the bank. Stays are all inclusive with guided excursions each day, and the property sits fifteen minutes out on the Caburgua road.

Volcán Villarrica
An active stratovolcano of 2,847 metres carrying a lava lake in its crater, climbed on crampons and ice axe from the ski centre above the town. Chilean rules put every party with a licensed guide, the ascent takes most of a day, and Sernageomin closes the route whenever the alert level rises.
