The market town at the centre of the Sacred Valley, lower and warmer than Cusco, which is why the valley's hotels cluster around it. There is little to see in the town itself; it earns its place as the base between Pisac, Moray and Ollantaytambo, all within forty minutes by road.

    The central square and surrounding arcaded streets host local artisan stalls, textile vendors, and craft shops selling alpaca goods, ceramics, and traditional Andean textiles year-round.

    High-altitude valley in the Andes running northeast from Ollantaytambo, with Inca terraces, traditional communities, and mountain views. The valley sits at approximately 9,000 to 11,000 feet elevation.

    The primary river system flowing through the Sacred Valley at approximately 2,800 metres elevation, bordered by agricultural terraces, colonial settlements, and Inca ruins. The valley floor provides trekking and rafting access.
