Amantaní Island
A terraced island of ten Quechua speaking communities north of Taquile, where visitors sleep in family houses and eat what the household eats. There is no wheeled traffic and no hotel, and the boat from Puno takes around three and a half hours.

Pachamama
The second of the island's two summit temples, on the slightly lower western hill and paired with Pachatata across the saddle. The path between the two is the island's main walk, with the lake in view on both sides for most of it.

Pachatata
A pre-Inca ceremonial platform on the island's higher summit at about 4,150 metres, walled in a single ring and opened once a year for the January festival. The walk up from the villages takes an hour, and most households time it to reach the top at sunset.
