King Nikola's Palace
King Nikola built this seafront palace at Bar in 1885, to a design by Josip Slade, and the town museum has occupied it since 1959: archaeology from Stari Bar, ethnographic collections and the palace rooms themselves, set in a botanical garden above the shore.

Bar Market
Stalls under a concrete canopy near the port sell what the Bar hinterland grows: olives and oil from groves running up the hillside, figs, pomegranates, smoked ham and rounds of young cheese. Trading starts early and the best of it has gone by mid morning. Sellers weigh in kilograms and mostly deal in cash, so small notes are worth carrying.

Stari Bar
The ruins of a fortified medieval town occupied from the 5th century through to its abandonment in 1881. The Ottoman-era stone walls, gates, and the clock tower remain; the site spans several acres on a hillside above modern Bar.
