Giants Playground
Dolerite has weathered into slabs stacked on top of one another across a few hectares, leaving corridors and dead ends that a marked route threads through. The blocks are large enough to lose a person between them. It sits on the same farm as the quiver trees and is visited on the same ticket.

Mesosaurus Fossil Site
Mesosaurus swam in a shallow sea about 280 million years ago, and its fossils turn up here and in Brazil and nowhere between, which is part of the evidence that the continents were once joined. The farmer guides the walk. Quiver trees and dolomite slabs that ring when struck stand on the same ground.

Quiver Tree Forest
Several hundred quiver trees grow on a dolerite ridge northeast of the town, declared a national monument in the 1950s. They are aloes and not trees, and the San hollowed their branches to carry arrows, which is where the name comes from. Sunset is when the trunks turn and the shapes separate against the sky.
