Things to do
3-
Blanský les
Beech forest and limestone hills make up this protected upland south of the village, crowned by the summit of Kleť. Marked trails link farm hamlets, a Celtic hillfort site near Třísov and quiet valleys running down to the Vltava. Paths are steep in places and signs are in Czech only, so a downloaded map helps.

Holašovice Historic Village
Gabled farmhouses in cream, white and pale green stand side by side around a broad green with a pond and a small chapel. Most houses are still private homes and working farms, so the visit is made from the green and the lanes. A small information centre and a pair of taverns sit on the square.

Kratochvíle Castle
Set inside a square moat with a walled garden, this Renaissance summer residence lies near Netolice, about ten kilometres north of Holašovice. Rooms with painted stucco ceilings are shown on guided tours, and an exhibition on Czech animated film fills part of the building. It opens from April to October, at weekends only in April and October.
