Things to do
3-
Noce
National Geographic put the Noce among the ten best rafting rivers in the world and first in Europe. It is glacier-fed, so it keeps grade three and four water through July when other Alpine rivers have dropped, and the gentler run from Monclassico to Cavizzana is the family one.
-
Parco naturale Adamello Brenta
The Brenta Dolomites on the south side of the valley, where the via ferrata was first developed as a mountaineering technique. Bocchette routes here are cabled traverses across vertical rock and need a harness and a head for it.
-
Parco nazionale dello Stelvio
One of the largest national parks in the Alps, covering the glaciated ground north of the valley up to the Ortles range. It carries long high-level routes and huts rather than day walks.
