Monte Monaco
The 532-metre limestone dome standing over the town, carrying most of the sport routes that made San Vito a winter climbing destination. The path to the top is steep and takes about ninety minutes. The summit ridge is open and exposed to wind off the sea.

Riserva naturale dello Zingaro
Italy's first nature reserve, seven kilometres of roadless coast between San Vito and Scopello with coves reachable only on foot. There is no road through it at all, which is why it survives. The coast path runs about seven kilometres between the two entrance gates.

Spiaggia di San Vito Lo Capo
A wide crescent of white sand under Monte Monaco, shallow and sheltered, and among the most photographed beaches in Sicily. It is busy through August and quiet either side of it. The water shelves slowly, which makes it workable with small children, and the sand runs the length of the town.
