Val di Mello
A flat-floored granite valley of meadows, waterfalls and scattered boulders, and the bouldering ground that made Italian climbing. The Melloblocco festival each spring is the largest bouldering meet in Europe, and problems run at every grade. The valley floor is walked on a level track from the car park.

Val Masino
The wider valley system holding the Sasso Remenno, one of the largest free-standing boulders in Europe, and multi-pitch granite up to several hundred metres. Trad and slab climbing here is closer to alpine rock than to a sport crag.
