Parco fluviale del Nera
The protected corridor along the river between Terni and Ferentillo, holding the falls, the rafting put-ins and a set of via ferrata and canyoning routes on the gorge walls.

Cascata delle Marmore
A drop of 165 metres in three stages, and not natural: the Romans cut the channel in 271 BC to drain a marsh, making it the tallest man-made waterfall in the world. It is switched on and off to timetable for a hydroelectric station, so check the release hours before going.

Nera
The rafting water of central Italy, boarded at the foot of the Marmore falls where the controlled release keeps the level usable almost all year. Grades are moderate, which makes it the usual first river for people who have never paddled.
