Uzungöl Nature Park
Declared in October 1989, the park takes in the lake and the forested valley around it, where fog often wraps the water at night. The lake itself, about a kilometre long, five hundred metres wide and fifteen metres deep at most, grew by two thirds after silt was cleared from it in 2004. Hotels, restaurants and souvenir shops now line the village shore.

Haldizen Mountains
Part of the Pontic Alps, this range rises above the lake and along the border between Trabzon and Bayburt provinces. Its high points are Demirkapı at 3,376 metres, then Kayışkıran and Karakaya, both above three thousand metres. The Haldizen stream, whose valley holds Uzungöl, takes its name from the range, and the word itself is of Laz origin.

Uzungöl Dursun Ali İnan Museum
Dursun Ali İnan spent about thirty years gathering the objects in this private museum, set on a site of roughly four thousand square metres in the village. It has three parts: a wooden Uzungöl house built in the local style, his collection of local and archaeological pieces, and sculpture and furniture he made from tree roots, alongside displays on the valley's wildlife, plants and daily life.
