Titlis
A summit at 3,238 metres reached by the Rotair, the first revolving cable car in the world, with a glacier cave cut into the ice and a suspension bridge along the cliff at the top. The glacier below it is skied through the summer.

Engelberg Abbey
A Benedictine house founded in 1120 and rebuilt in the eighteenth century after fire, holding the largest organ in Switzerland. The monks still make cheese in the showdairy and the library is opened on guided tours.

Fuerenalp
A small cable car up the other side of the valley to an alp at 1,850 metres, facing the Titlis rather than standing on it, which is the better view of the two. The path on to the Stafelbach waterfall is quiet.

Truebsee
A lake at 1,764 metres on the way up the Titlis, with a flat path around it of about an hour and the Titlis wall standing over the far end. It is where most people break the ascent and it is worth stopping for on its own.
