Lake Zug
A lake of thirty-eight square kilometres running south towards the Rigi, with a shore path from the town and boats in summer. It is warm and shallow at the northern end and much deeper under the mountains at the far one.

Zytturm
Standing on Kolinplatz at the top of the old town, this clock tower and former gate has a steep roof tiled in the blue and white of the canton. Its astronomical clock of 1574 shows the weekday, moon phase, zodiac month and leap year. Beneath it are painted the arms of the eight old cantons.

Zug Old Town
Three lanes of painted burgher houses running down to the lake, complete enough that the whole quarter is protected, with the Kolinplatz at the top and the water at the bottom. It takes twenty minutes and rewards a slower pass.

Zugerberg
Wooded at its crest, this ridge above the town rises to 1,039 metres, and its funicular from Schoenegg, reached by bus from Zug station, tops out at 925 metres. The upper station is a broad pasture plateau with views over the lake to the Rigi and the Alps, and walks run on towards Lake Aegeri.
