European Commission of the Danube Lighthouse
The lighthouse of 1802, rebuilt in 1870, which stood at the river mouth until the shore moved two kilometres east and left it in the middle of town. It now holds a small museum with the commission's instruments.

Palace of the European Commission of the Danube
The commission's headquarters, built in the 1860s, from which an international body governed navigation on the lower river until 1938. It is a public building of imperial scale in a town with no road to it.

Plaja Sulina
A wide sand beach about two kilometres from the town along a track, backed by dunes and effectively undeveloped. It is where the Danube's sediment ends up and it goes on for kilometres.

Sulina Old Lighthouse
The older light on the left bank, disused, standing where the channel used to run. It marks how far the delta has grown seaward in a century and a half.
