Why you should go

Ninety seconds on Râșnov

A town under a citadel that villagers built for themselves rather than for a lord, which is why it has houses, a school and a well inside the walls instead of a keep. It sits between Brașov and Bran and is usually passed on the way to one of them. It is the better fortress of the two and much the quieter. The hill also holds a cave with a concert hall acoustic and the ski jumps built for a winter youth olympics.

  2. Valea Cetății Cave

    Landmark · 1 hr

A cave opened by a flood in 1949 and developed with walkways, whose main chamber has an acoustic good enough that chamber concerts are held in it. The temperature stays close to ten degrees all year.
